The 3 Minute Beach Clean
The 3 Minute Beach Clean can be done by YOU anywhere in the world.
Simply spend 3 minutes cleaning up a beach and YOU will inspire others to do the same.
Remember to snap a pic, tag #3minutebeachclean and post to socials.
Launching in time for summer 2024, a series of '3 Minute Litter Stations' will be found along the Western Australian coast, at Sorrento, North Cottesloe and Fremantle Surf Life Saving Clubs.
What is a 3-minute beach clean?
Do you love the beach and the ocean?
You will be sad to know there are now more microplastics in the ocean than there are stars in the milky way.
Our ocean provides us with the air we breathe. We need to look after her. All it takes is 3 minutes.
The 3 Minute Beach Clean encourages you to spend
3 minutes cleaning up your beach. This is the same amount of time it takes you to send an email, make a phone call or watch a reel!
The 3 Minute Litter Stations are call to action portable
A- frames holding tongs and litter bags (made from old surf life saving patrol uniforms) to encourage beach lovers to protect and nurture their local area by picking up rubbish AND look at ways they can refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle.
Currently the litter stations are found at Sorrento, North Cottesloe and Fremantle Surf Lifesaving Clubs in Western Australia.
Our aim is to have them at every Surf Life Saving Club in Australia by 2025
All litter leads to the ocean so litter picking is vital to protect our oceans and water ways.
Did you know?
95% of litter on beaches comes from suburban streets, via street drains and the stormwater system
The effects of ocean pollution can be devastating for human well-being and ecosystem health
If an area is clean, people are less likely to litter
SO LET'S DO IT & START A TREND
