Why with Eco Surf Australia
it's more than just a "Beach Clean"

Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring, and rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver.

Our Earth has five great oceans and 113 seas. They represent 72 percent of the surface of the globe, and together they've been an endless source of life and inspiration for humankind.

The ocean is at a fragile point.  It produces 80 percent of the worlds oxygen and absorbs 50 times more carbon than the atmosphere .

However the good news is, YOU can do something about it NOW.

WE are the agents capable of making change.

One great way to make a difference is to participate in an audited and logged beach or river clean.  If we just picked up rubbish, it would be like failing to fix a leaky tap - it will just keep dripping!

A logged clean up has two benefits:

  1. It improves the coastal and ocean ecosystem by ensuring that none of the litter kills marine life or is toxic enough to disrupt the aquatic life cycle;

  2. It is an opportunity to gather scientific data about the state of our coasts and the quantity and types of litter that pollutes them.  This information is valuable so that source reduction initiatives can be implemented.

Eco Surf Australia coordinates and facilitates both beach and river cleans for community, school and corporate groups, often partnering with the Keep Australia Beautiful Council, Ausmap and Tangaroa Blue Foundation
